LAST EDITED ON Jul-10-15 AT 00:17AM (MST)[p]Came across this article tonight - wanted to post it here and get your thoughts. I think this is some great practical advice. Some things that are easy to overlook.

I agree with #1. Went with my brother up to the Bighorns last fall. I was in poor shape. I am sure we could have done better If I was better. Next time I will train to be in "Sheep shape" and hope to end up in "Elk shape".

Mistake Number 1 is:

StickFlippers & Scouters for Later Hunts Blowing Their Trombones/Hoochie Mamas 1-2 Months before a REAL Bugle has ever been Made making them Mighty Call Shy!

Bessy,
It is always the stickflippers with you - did a stickflipper kick your arse at one point in your life? If not, maybe I should :)

I am sure a thunderstick hunter has never blown on their hoochie mama call every 5 seconds, or worse, spent the last couple days of the bowhunters "golden" hunting time traipsing around, sounding off their bugles and cow calls at every look out point right after slamming the truck door closed so they can find "their" bull a couple days before their hunt opens.

Always the stickflippers!! You crack me up man - I am still waiting for the day that you cash in your mythological Utah elk bonus points and actually hunt instead of being a poser so we can all see how it is really done by the elkassassin himself. How about next year? I would even offer to come help you out just so I could experience it all and witness it first hand - with your points you should be able to draw any tag in the state, right? What do ya say Bessy -can we get this hunt scheduled for next year?

LOL elkhunter!

I actually Flip Sticks Myself a little!

But seriously!

I've Took & Helped a few Early Youth Hunters over the years!

And it never fails!

When I'm up looking around I see a lot of StickFlippers Honking their Horns,Sounding like a 500" Bull!:D

And Honking Them at least a Month before there's any REAL Bugles being made!

Sure makes for some Call Shy SOB'ing Bulls come Season!

I'm sure some of the JOKERS are Youth Hunters,SMOKE-POLERS & the DREADED Rifle Hunters that Hunt Right in the middle of the F'N RUT!

(((You Feel Better now?:D:D:D)))

I have nothing against StickFlippers!

But GEEZUS!

Every time I mention one some of you are some Sensitive Bastages!:D

And by the way:

I surely don't have enough Elk Points to Draw any Tag in the State!
