What's going on! No pics or stories yet from Archery or Muzzy in unit 61. I'm getting stoked to get up there for my hunt. Any info or sightings would be great. 2nd rifle bull tag. Thanks

Yeah been pretty quite from there thins year. I have the 2nd season bull tag last year and I have a great time. I have a cow tag thins year for 3rd season. Cant wait to get back up there.

SanJaunSlayer, Awesome dark horn bull. Hope I can find one that good. What area of 61 were you guys in? I was up there opening day muzzle scounting for my rifle tag coming up. Did you see a lot or have to dig for that one? Haven't heard a lot from up there. What kinda score did it tape at? just curious!!! Thanks for any info!! Bryan

We weren't seeing a lot the first few days of season but dad was just out of the hospital and not able to get around really well. I think all the rain we've had has them spread out more than usual as well.

The day he killed his bull we got into a big heard with a dozen or so bulls in it though. He grossed 344 with 20" 3rds.

On a side note, this is a top end bull for this unit in my opinion. I have spent a lot of time in 61 and most herd bulls are in the 280-300 range.

Just got back last nite driving & scouting 61. Saw a bull killed and guys waiting for horses to show up to pack. His bull was exactly as you explained. Hope I can find one like your dad's. Nice Bull!! I will be up there Thurs AM setting up camp. Sent you a pm. Thanks

I think the CPW has recognized a drop in the number of bulls and bull quality in 61/62 as they issued 25 fewer bull tags in unit 61 this year and 130 fewer bull tags in unit 62 (during the controllable hunts). Maybe the hunters are still harvesting bulls but they don't feel the need to post pictures of 270 - 300 type bulls after waiting all those years to draw a tag in 61. Just a thought. Beautiful (and steep) country.
