Finally drew my AZ elk tag as a resident with 18 bonus points. Remarkably my wife drew the same hunt on a separate application with her 12 points. I passed 3 300" bulls on day 1 and was in bugling bulls every morning and evening. I took this bull on day 5.
My wife spent the whole hunt chasing a big atypical she found on day 1. She passed on many smaller bulls while trying to make it happen. She had the big one in her scope 4x but he always made the right moves to save his life. She is pretty disappointed but will get over it in time for the AZ 12AW late deer tag she also drew this year.
A buddy of mine did a nice euro mount for me.
