I posted these two bucks a couple weeks ago but did not have the pedestal finished. I was able to finish it this weekend. My dad built the pedistal and I stained it and added the habitat. I think it turned out pretty good.

Freakin sweet man, I love it, the pedistal, the habitat, and the mounts. All of them are great.

Why did you go to so much trouble for such little deer? HaHa. That is a bitchin' display. Congrats on the trophies!

Wow, that's incredible work. The detail in the faces is outstanding. I may have missed it in a previous post but who did the taxidermy?

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

This is hands down, the most beautiful pedestal mount i have ever seen, DAMN!!!

Some day when I get my dream buck(s) or elk, I'll need to do something just about the same. Very nice!!

Taxidermy was done by Harvey Kay of Kay's Taxidermy in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan.

Saskman, did you use real sage for your habitat? If so, how did you preserve it; or if it is imitation where did you get it?

The reason I ask is that I dug some to use on a sage grouse mount that I had mounted...it dried fine, and looks good but man is it fragile! It's gotten to the point that if you breath on it it falls apart. I was thinking about spraying it with something like unscented hair spray. Any thoughts on this anyone???

Those are some of the nicest archery bucks I have ever seen and the mounts aren't half bad either.

Archery is a year round commitment!!
