henry mountains non-res. rifle tag --PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE-I need help locating an area with potential for producing a 200" buck

Dont mean to sound like a smart A** but I think you already found the place just by getting that tag.

I would get a hold of smokepolejohnson, I think he drew a Henrys archery tag and he could give you some advice after his hunt.

LAST EDITED ON Apr-30-08 AT 07:15PM (MST)[p]good buck all over henry mts where do you live give me a call 435-340-0898

on top of Mt Ellen.(I think thats the name)With a good scope you can glass bucks from the flats.Good Luck

elkwalker I sent you a PM, you have drawn the best Mule deer tag in the west!!! Just my opinion!!!!

Thanks,

L.T.

if you can go down to the heneries, in late july to mid of august and drive around mt. ellen and glass the top, it is mostly bare open country, there will be more big bucks than you have ever seen in your life. the road goes all the way around the mountain you can accsess that road from many different directions. You can come up from the notom road to the west or the little Egypt road on the east. Also you can go south out of Hanksvile and go up on the north side through lonesome beaver campground. there is also a camp ground on the west side called mcmillon campground. On the south side of Ellen is the horn and mt. pennel with a good road going on the east side of the mountain heading to mt. Hillers there is a campground on the south side of Hillers also. and I believe that some of the bigger bucks are being killed on Pennel and Hillers. Not as many deer but not hunted as hard, If you can put some time in scouting you should be able to find some bucks that would fill that 200" mark. sorry I have just been rambling hope that any of this is of value to you. I love the heneries wish I was going with you. good luck on the hunt and if there is any other info that I can help you with let me know.

TWO POINTS!!! Boy, you need to go buy some Super Lotto tickets right now. How lucky can that be? I'am not doubting you, but what are the odds?

elkwalk, I drew that tag in 06, took a 206" gross buck, send me a pm, and oh ye, you were very! very! lucky to have drawn the Henry Mtn tag.

SNIFF!SNIFF!

If it was me you "all" would be sick of seeing all proof!!

How do they work that with 2 NR permits? Isn't one in the bonus point section and one down in the bottom half of the numbers? That is the only way you got your hands on that tag. I think I'm standing down wind with Rack the more I think about it.

It's always an adventure!!!
