spent the day with my grandson Saturday, we got into the elk early, we spotted a good herd just after daylight, after we got above them he was able to get one on the ground as they filtered past. getting her out was another story, one I would prefer not want to repeat.

Good for him and even better on you by getting him involved. I got my boy out last week to shoot a cow I had been saving points for and mentored the tag to him. That's what it's all about, seeing the kids be successful.

good for you shadow, I agree that what its about. I did the mentor tag for him on a double doe tag this year. waited and used the 9 antlerless deer points for it. the 1st 2 shots out of the rem 270 I bought him were spot on at 300 yards, they dropped within 40 yards of each other. my only regret was that I had a mentor tag for my open bull and really wanted him to shoot the 6point I shot but could not get him within a good range for him.
