Deer still packing an antler

My wife and I were out for mothers day dinner and on the way home I saw a deer in the headlights that appeared to have antlers. I flipped the truck around and went back and sure as heck it was a buck with a hard antler on it's right side.

It was a 4 point that looked to have about a 28" spread if it still had the other antler.

Have any of you seen a buck still packing antlers this late in the year?
I've never seen one this late.

Last week I saw two different bucks packing both sides. Both of them were three points with eye guards about 20-24 inches wide. Their antlers were very very light colored almost white.

Odd... I saw a buck yesterday with velvet up over his ears already.

It was odd, because that same day I saw three different bucks with velvet up by their ears as well.

I believe you! Some deer have different testosterone levels than others. Heck, Barry Bonds has more..., that's why he showed marginally high levels during routine blood scans. Maybe that buck had been feeding in a flaxseed field! lol

I too have been seeing bucks with velvet antlers. Three this week so far. No knobs yet but they're going out and up! Yes!
