Help Finding Lost Antlers

Back in 1972 [when I was 6 years old and missing my front teeth] my father shot a record deer in the Diamond Fork area of Utah. It won the Big Buck contest that year and we got a free truck out of it. Part of the agreement was that the sponsor of the contest could keep the antlers to display, but that my father still owned the antlers. Years later when the sponsor closed down we were supposed to go pick them up but someone had already taken them.

We have looked for years and even looked into a reconstruction but it would cost a fortune. My father contracted Parkinson's Disease a few years ago and is no longer able to enjoy the out of doors. All he has of his hunting glory days are pictures. Due to his health and the mobility problems caused by Parkinson's he pretty much sits home. We are not sure how much longer he will last and want to make one last try to locate the giant of 1972. It would be one of the greatest gifts that I could ever give my father, to locate his trophy for him. 42" spread non-typical. Pictures are attached.

Good luck on your quest!! Seems to me that this place would be a good one to put the word out. Deer like that, exceptional, are remembered!

You should try contacting the H&H Mule Deer Collection in Palm Springs, California ( Or is it just H now? ). That is where most of the "missing" deer heads are found, they have a huge collection. PM me if you can't find their contact info. Best of Luck, that is an incredible buck.

Don't know which is better......the deer or that you're trying to return it to your dad. Wish I knew how to help.

Nice buck and a great cause, I hope you find them, This is a great place to start if they are still out there someone on here will know where they have seen them good luck.

What was the name of the place that it was displayed? What city? When did the place close? etc. If you give more information maybe someone could help figure it out.
I sure hope you track it down.

Correct. The antlers were on display at the Wolfs Sports in Orem that is now the Big 5 Sports. Not sure if they might have been moved to another location before Wolf's closed down.

Zinik 1972, Marvin Christiansen. Shot in the Diamond/Halls Fork area by Yellow Jacket. They were on display at Wolf's Sports in Orem for awhile. Not sure if they were moved to another location.
