I'm going to make someones day. I've bought points the last 2 years just so I could draw this year with the later dates. My CC got hit (like I knew it would) the same day I found out my 2.5 year old knee replacement has failed (hardware has loosened). My surgeon is a bow hunter & he said with the extra work involved in doing a "revision" that putting in the effort for an LE tag is a no-go this year. I'll be lucky to hunt spikes/cows off the seat of my wheeler.

Congrats & good luck to whoever gets my tag.

Sincerely,

Sorry to hear that! I'm a firm believer everything happens for a reason. The best part is u can rehab and be ready to go for next year and I think the days are only one day off from this year.

Also just wondering how has that knee replacement been? Besides the problems. I think I'll be getting one or two sooner than later. Have u been able to hunt hard etc with it?

I know my Dad really improved post op. Before he had snails passing him going downhill with poles in both hands. After he did much better, huge difference on any up and down.

Clint, think positive man, think positive

You'll draw next year & probably shoot a 400"+ bull & be so glad you got screwed out of this year. In fact you will probably get a deer tag also next year & shoot a 30"+ buck on the same hunt. Magazines will call, you'll be known as one of the greatest bow hunters ever. Mathews will have a signature bow with your name on it, sponsors will throw stuff at you, women will want you & their men will want to be you. Absurd amounts of money will literally fall from the sky into your lap - it will be awesome.

I'm rooting for you, buddy!

Dan, you are too funny! Where do you come up with this stuff?!

@theox - Well my recovery has been far from ideal. I had it done in November 2013 & since then have given up wakeboarding, dirtbikes & softball (I'm probably too old for all that stuff anyway). The 2014 bowhunt was uncomfortable but I got around good enough to shoot a cow & was able to pack out that one & help my son pack out his - both were less than a half mile. Last year we both got elk again, I also packed my wifes deer out in one load uphill about a mile. So I can get around but it isn't very fun. Between the big game hunts & the pheasant hunt I had my knee drained 5 times, around 1800cc's of straight blood each time, this was likely due to walking on the loose implant.

That said, obviously mine is not the norm, talked to several guys who have done great with TKR's & get around the mountain with no problem. One positive for me, as my knee started to get really bad I slowed down my hunting & I think I have been more successful simply because I'm not racing to get over the next hill, or maybe I've just been lucky?
