i have hunted 81 lots of times.last time my hunting and i both took bonners. 204 net,194 net.go up towards jackpot,a few miles before turn right and go towards utah.go to goose creek and camp.all the area from there to idaho border a few miles north is great country. it all looks like barren country,lots of cheet grass,and lava rocks. those big bucks like to hide on the lee sides of the rocks.just look for the rocks and sneak in.i have seen as many as 60 bucks in one area there.they use that little valey to breed the does. big bucks migrate out of ID first week of november.you can call me for more info.dale 303-5885638

i lived in vegas for 22 yrs.now live in eagle colorado.the later in the season the better.fun hunt,not very many hunters.too bad it burned in the early 2000,s. should be better now that it,s had time to re grow.dale

Where are you from 270? I'm coming from SE Idaho. Hopefully will be able to put in a few trips this summer.

I know many deer migrate into the area, but are there many resident bucks?

Will probably concentrate on the last week of the season.

I travel alot right (job) right now I'm in california will hunt the last 10 day of the hunt wont be able to go up anytime soon I hope I do get the chance.. Any idea where I could get a map for that arrea? thanks

Sportsmans Warehouse has a map machine that had NV, so I just printed one off there. Elko is the local BLM office.

Make sure your truck is locked if you stop and get something to eat or have a cold beer. I wouldn't trust leaving anything of value in the back of your truck either. Both places to get something to eat at are bars, and some of the people that are from around there have sticky fingers. Don't take me wrong, there are some very nice people there, but some are pretty dishonest. I had some item's stole from my truck there once, so I don't like to stick around there very long if I can help it.

I have been thru and stayed many a nite in montelo, and have never had a problem. I was just thru there sunday and it looks like they fixed up the motel a bit...
