Moriah Wilderness

Hi Guys,

Just like ZR1 in another post here I too drew Unit 114 archery. Can anyone tell what access to the wilderness area is like. I understand there are a lot of roads leading to the wilderness area but I here many are in bad condition.

I am looking at doing the research and legwork but any information on this unit would be great. I am willing to hike in on foot to get away from the crowds. I would love to pack in establish a base camp and bivy out from there but so far not having much luck with a packer.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-08 AT 10:21AM (MST)[p]About 50 miles of fair to very poor trails give access to the area. Some of the primitive trailheads on the east side are generally accessible by passenger car along roads that follow Hampton Creek, Hendry's Creek, and Smith Creek. There is access from the west side, but generally a four drive vehicle is required. (Goggle Moriah Wilderness) That will help in the paper work end of getting you some useful information.
