I am getting ready to go up to unit 6A for some pre-season scouting. I hunted the lower part of the unit last season for whitetail, but I dont imagine the deer would stay down that low once it gets hot. I want to get away from the 4-wheelers, so I am thinking about either about scouting Wet Beaver Creek Wilderness, Clear Creek Wilderness, or Fossil Spring Wilderness. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about these areas?

They are all good areas for coues.
You could also look at the upper end of the Rattlesnake quiet area, the quiet area behind upper Lake Mary, or atop Mormon Mtn.

Well I love those rattlesnakes! I know there was a lot of mule deer down in the bottom of fossil creek last December, so I am figurin they will just follow these drainages up around top. Have any of you had any luck in any of these drainages?

I suspect you saw a few mulies in the canyons last Dec due to the snow in the higher elevations last year.
During the archery deer season, I would concentrate on the places above the rim.

Redrabbit,
Yes the southern part of the unit was loaded with mulies and whitetail last December and January. After the late rifle hunt I had it all to myself from what I saw. Unfortunately for me and everybody else reading this post...that hunt is no longer open for archery. It is my first choice for late WT Rifle. I will take your advice and start up on the rim. It seems like that area above the 260 is really getting some good rain, and I suspect there will be a lot of game in that area. Thanks for the help.
