I lucked out and got my Last choice witch is unit 10. Never ben. there. Is there any one that has hunted it have aney info fore me.
If so I will give you my email. Thanks Jim

there are some big deer in the unit, however they can be very hard to find. the deer are pretty scattered so you may go some days without seeing anything. Its hard but enjoyable.

It's Bush's fault!!!

Your last choice...did you put 2 choices only?

Its a big unit with scattered deer herds. Take a look around Pica Camp and you should find something, not to mention lots of hunters.

Check the north end and the canyons running into the big ditch.
Take some gasoline.

The guys above are right. Unit 10 is big country and the deer are scattered. The two main areas of deer concentration are the Aubrey Cliffs from Seligman to the Hualapai Reservation line and the Williams Corner. Deer can be located in other areas as well but densities can be very low. And yes, there are some bigger bucks in this unit. The north end of Cataract Canyon from Redlands north has produced some very good bucks in the past and the scenery is fantastic! Further south, near Williams can also be good. The center part of the unit holds a few deer and some good ones but be prepared to hunt long and hard between sightings. Best of luck!

I had the youth deer tag on 10 a couple years ago. We hunted very hard and seen very few deer. I did end up finding a giant shed there though. Talk to the cowboys, they had some good information and know the area better then anyone.

I drew Unit 10 a few years ago and passed on a couple of fork horns just north of town. It was real muddy (swamp) so we couldn't get back to the cliffs from the Williams side. Then it started snowing and got real cold! (below 0) The only other good deer sign we found was up high where the deep snow was. I drew Unit 10 for any antlered deer and antlerless elk this year (Nov. 24 and Dec. 5 respectively) If you need more info drop me a line. I'll probably see you up there. [email protected]

He went 180. Some nice bucks are there, but they won't be easy to find. The strip it's not.

Get out the maps, pick a few good looking areas, and get out on foot. The deer are not very thick in that unit, and the bigguns are few and far between. Hunter success typically runs from between 7% and 15% in that unit, most years, and has one of the lowest success rates in the state, typically. But, with some work, and a willingness to get away from the roads, it can be done. I had almost 40 days scouting invested in this buck. Didn't see but one other as big, but I had this one patterned, and closed the deal come huntin season.

You had to of put in for 10 as your 2nd choice, correct? I had it as my 2nd choice as well this year, but didn't get drawn. If you got drawn on a 3rd or later choice, something can't be right there.
