Do you think muleys will bed pretty much in the same place. I have seen this buck where he waters and heads back up a draw but really don't want to get any closer to see where he beds. He is with a crippled buck and they seem to just hang out together.

In my experionce mule deer will bed in difrent areas each day. I do alot of archery mule deer in ID, UT, AND WY, and found out that bucks will ded in difrent areas each day. But sometimes they will retern to the same bed..........................

I would say they will stay in the same pocket as it probably provides food, shelter, and water unless one of those 3 things changes...water may dry up, food may get all eaten and then they would move on.

I think they stay pretty close "to home" until something changes. I even think they return to "home" when hunting starts. They hunker down more, but they have homes. They know those places well and use that knowledge. I've located a few really good deer over the years. SOME of those deer used the same bed (very good vantage points) regularly. Some of them used the same areas. Some moved more, but I think you can count on the buck being close (unless food, water or cover changes) two months from now.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

Ok I have been watching this buck and have found his bedding spot under a rock cliff. He has been there for 2 days in the morning. I have not check in afternoons and evening but there the last 2 days. I would think he would stay in the area if not using the same spot to bed. He might change it up but do you think he will be back if not seen a day or so.

If he's in an area that gets hunted hard year after year he might move after opening morning and not come back until next year. If he is in a lighter pressure area he'll probably stay close until you kill him or spook him pretty bad. From the deer I've been around in lighter pressure areas you can bump him a couple times before he leaves as long as he isn't spooked bad.
