As I read the proposal for the new deer management plan, I started to question what the Southern Unit would look like. This is obviously the most popular general unit now, but would it be with this proposal? I live in this area so my opinion is bias, but I thought it was interesting. I thought some of you might be interested and I hope I am not the only one who has thought about this.
It was just a quick reference map for my own sake. I didn't include private land and I estimated on the National Parks in this area. I was just curious if I now have to get a "Type A" general Southern tag, where will I have left to hunt with the other 70% percent of the "opportunity" hunters. Do we really need MORE LE units? My other question is the rest of the Southern Unit Type A "General" unit capable to handle the rest of the 70% and will it ever be for that sake with it's type of habitat?
