G-38 Help

I drew G38 this year abd am very excited to hunt that area. I'v lived in so. cal. for 50 years, been by that area dozens of times. Hunted x9a few years ago. Any help as to where to base camp for both weather conditions(snow- no snow). I have been told saw mill flat or campground?! anyone hunt deer island? or Monache area? I have a great map highlighted of x9a and would be happy to share w/ anyone also. Thanks in advance for the info. I know it takes alot of time in the field to hunt a new area. take Care Gary

I hunted this county for years,but its just like the rest of California,gone way down hill.If you get a little weather get up into the honeybee,in years past we have taken a few good bucks out of there.
