15 Inch Base Buck........OK...Maybe not Quite

My dad shot this buck 20+ years ago in Oregon. Fish and Wildlife asked if they could use it to hang in their office and he agreed. For the past 20+years this was displayed in one of the field offices and he just got it back. Really freak buck. I am sure some of you know way more than me about why it is like this but I though I would post some pics. The bases (with my very rough and unprofessional metal tape measure) come up with around 13-14". Anyway, here it is.

well that does say 13 and 14 + inches but measuring the burr isn't the way its done. Base measurement is the smallest circumferance between the burr and eyeguard.

Goofy thing isn't it?

15 inch bases or not - that is very interesting. The picture with the kid holding it gives an idea of it's size - way bigger than the first pictures make it look. Very cool - thank you for sharing it.

In the same spot as my chances of hunting tigers in a zoo, in a FANTASY world!!! That kid wouldn't have taken so much slack if he hadn't defended the story so much and promised pictures over and over again. Personally I expect to get mauled by Bigfoot on my archery hunt next weekend before I will ever see those pictures.
