Field Judge This Bull

Its really hard to judge from that short video clip, however he looks like a great Bull.I say thats a shooter. My best Bull scores 381 gross and 375 net. This Bull looks very similar. I'll say he is somewhere between 360 and 380.

Big enough to take a "shoot first, measure tines later" approach!

After looking at the video again today I am going to lower my estimate. At the end of the clip when he turns and looks away he doesn't really have that wow factor. More of a narrow rack. I think he will go closer to 355 or 360. Still a great biull..

Pretty short look (kind of like real hunt situation that you need to decide now).

Beams 50" (X2)
Mass 27" (X2)
Tines 80" (X2)
Wide ?? 38"

352 Gross

Shoot it, on most units other than, best of the best.

Nope won't upload

As I watch the video again, he is narrow, short beamed that will kill the score, I might down size him to a 330 class bull.

Not to big a difference from 320-330 , I'm saying your alot closer.I'm even being a Little generous I think at 320.

I cant tell on his fronts very well, but I think he is 345-355.

He has about a 55" beams I'm guessing.
Great 4ths and 5ths.
Narrow, but not too narrow maybe 40-45.

Great bull. I have a 310 bull at home and this bull is his bigger brother. Great bull for sure.

When I filmed this bull he was nearly a mile away. I estimated him in the 350 class...give or take. I was curious to get some other opinions. He looks like a solid bull...hopefully he adds a few more inches this year.

To me, he looks like he'll probably go 345-355". He's got normal to slightly narrow width, nice tine length, average mass for a bull in this class.

I'd shoot him without hesitation and be very happy to have him.

I'm going with 335. He's pretty narrow, but I think the main beam length is a little larger than some have estimated.

315 to 380, quite a range. I'll go with 340ish but if I had to go over under I would go over. Earlier this year I was scolded for wanting to hunt 350 bulls in Wyoming general units, I'd take my chances and shoot.

I picked up a shed similar to that bull this year and I taped it out just to see what it would score. I came up with roughly 320-330ish. I would have thought it scored higher, somewhere in the 350 range. I guess I have not stood next to enough 350+ bulls to know how to field judge. That being said, if I saw that bull and had a shot opportunity, I would shoot. I am not much for inches. If it gets my heart going, its big enough!

Thanks for sharing.

Lots of moisture this summer might jump up the score this fall on that bull.
Regardless, looks like a shooter to me! Hope you got a game plan for him this season. Good luck.

Yep there sure are !! You never know exactly until u lay a tape . The more I look the more I'm thinking his tickling 300

I guess it depends on where you are hunting and what size bulls come out of there , also what else you are seeing and have you taken a bull that size yet . That bull is over 350 and where I hunt I would shoot him on the first day at first light .

I agree with tail gunner regarding the hunter and what available where you hunt, but I won't guess on his score.

Like others have said, he's just average length, nice but not exceptional

Nice 4 th and 5ths but not exceptional.

0kay thirds but they curl in and its hard to tell if they are better than just decent.

This eye guards are anyone's guess and his brow tines are certainty not huge.

He's not wide but I've see plenty that are more narrow than him. I'd say about right for decent symmetry .

Mass, not a monster but average for the rest of his size.

Unless you're only interested in very high B & C scores I believe he is an excellent looking bull elk, that very nicely represents a mature bull.

I ve seen a ton of mature bull elk hunters dang happy with bulls that will score less than him, me inclluded. I hunt for what meets my interesfs. This is a right nice bull but I don't believe he's anywhere near 350' but I been wrong before.

For once I agree with BugleNMin; he's a pretty bull, but he looks closer to 320" than 350" to me.

His beam length is not as great as some are saying.

Holy moly no wonder it's raining in Albuquerque ???

I'm impressed , you spelled Albuquerque correct?. I over classed this bull initally stating 365-375 But on second veiwing I'll still say he is a shooter 345 ish . 350 bulls look balanced and symetrical in relation to the body size , this bull is a bit under that bar . Bulls pushing above 350 look abnormal in antler size as opposed to body size. That probably makes no sense to anyone but me lol . Fun topic , hopefully we get more Bulls to wager a guess at.

Thanks man !!! I think my spelling is better than your field judging ????????

LOL Haven't heard that one before.
I believe he is a 340-350 class bull THIS YEAR with a good year for growing.
