Well here is my Nevada buck. This is my first year hunting Nevada and it was a blast. We started hiking at 1:00 am and got to camp just as it got light, so we started hunting on no sleep. I have a lot of hunts this year so I couldn't take alot of time for this hunt. Stalked two nicer bucks (one in the 180 range) but although I got to 30 yards I couldn't get a shot. I then set up under a cliff and caught this buck moving through an escape route. He turned broadside at 32 yards and I couldn't resist. He is 27.5" wide and fairly heavy but is only a three point. Unique frame with no front forks. Lots of fun and 7.5 mile hike back to the truck. It doesn't get much better. Utah deer elk starts saturday, then alaska aug 28, followed by wyoming deer antelope sept 15th and whitetail in kansas novemeber 5th. Should be fun.

Hey MT what unit did you hunt at and congrats great buck and good luck rest of the season...

great start for a good year,I would took him in a heart beat. I hope your taxi bill for the year runs high, LOL

Great buck Jason. Jeff showed me the buck on the cell phone. Sounds like you had fun. I am hoping he will look like a nice set of eye guards for my CO buck that i am going to stick in 2 weeks.lol. Dont let them big brown bears up north take a chunck out of you. Be safe. Aaron

SWEET BUCK JASON. I'D ASK HOW FAR THE SHOT WAS BUT I KNOW IF IT WAS OVER 30 YARDS SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FREAK OUT ABOUT IT. ANYWAYS, GREAT JOB & GOOD LUCK ON THE REST OF YOUR HUNTS.

I had a friend videoing with a doubler from about 300 yards but I haven't watched it yet. I am hoping it is decent footage. It is the first time he has videoed, so I guess we will see. I videoed a cougar stalking a two point out there on a scouting trip and that footage was awesome. I never realized what beautiful country Nevada has to offer. it goes from sage brush desert to mule deer haven in about a 3 hour hike and 3500 feet elevation gain. Open country with little cover makes for awesome spot and stalk action. We were just below 10000 ft on this buck and I can't wait to go back.

P.S. 32 yard shot

I have a couple big bucks I have been watching for the Uath archery opener and I got some great video of them yesterday. Saturday morning should be fun. hopefully some sticks will be flying. Good luck to everybody!!!
