My family has drawn tags for the mid November mule deer hunt in 36C. As this is the first time that we have really hunted Mule deer I was wondering if anyone could provide some additional info. We scouted down by Elkhorn Ranch and in the small area that the Buenos Aires Wildlife Refuge occupies in our unit and saw a couple does and a fawn. We also traveled down the road which at the end have what i think are called the Mormon tanks. I was wondering if there are other areas in which we should hit or just focus on these as we will be out scouting more but have limited time to do so. Thanks for any help.

Elkhorn ranch will be over run with people during the hunt. My advice would be to go all the way down towards Sasabe and find an out of the way spot to concentrate your time on. I am sure you know that the muleys will be in the flats, so spend your time there. Santa Margarita ranch allows hunter access where you could set up on a small rise and glass back into the flats. There are some water tanks throughout those flats, maybe spend some scouting time finding those and go from there........... Thanks, Allen Taylor......
