northern deer #s way down

i do not know about you guys but from what i have been seeing the last few weeks the numbers are way low i have seen a few nice bucks so i am not going in to panic mode but i do not think this going to be a good year for some i am seeing hardly any fawns and after talking to some of my bowhunting buddies it seams to be a trend what are your thoughts good luck on your hunts

I agree with you on the numbers being down. Last week when I went up it was the first time I had gone up in 5 years and not seen a buck. I have only seen a few does with fawns. It is not going to be a year like we have all been used to up north.

I'm sure you are talking about public ground... I've seen a lot of great bucks this year on private land in the north... But that doesn't help any of us out, I can't afford that.

browning rage- ill have to agree with you. i scouted some private yesterday and saw alot of deer. just not alot of big bucks. lots of does and fawns. some does even had two fawns. the area i was in seemed to have deer with smaller bodies than i am used to seeing. their bellies were fat their overall body size was just small. must be a genetics thing. on the bright side i think i found my buck this year. ill try to post some pics tonight. in the areas that I have been looking, it is business as normal, only difference is ALOT better feed than the last few years....
