Thought you guys might like to read this book. It will be available this november from Safari Press. The cover shot is one I took a few years ago. . .

"Roadless areas, in general, represent some of the best fish and wildlife habitat on public lands. The bad news is that there is nothing positive about a road where fish and wildlife habitat are concerned -- absolutely nothing." (B&C Professor, Jack Ward Thomas, Fair Chase, Fall 2005, p.10).

>I'd buy a coffee table book
>of you and Rod's best
>photos if you guys compiled
>your greatest shots.

Now that's a great offer and a great idea. I'd love to pull something like that together. I'll talk it over with Rod this weekend and see what he says. I think we could do a few nice live shots, some cool hunter in the field shots, some shed shots, a landscape or three, and a few live animal landscape shots.

Thanks for the responses. . .

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-08 AT 11:06AM (MST)[p]A book of big buck photos would be cool. I wouldn't add the hunter in the field shots personally. That's stuff that is out of date too fast and hunter in the field photos are available everywhere. I wouldn't do sheds either. But however it is, it would be cool.

240 pages of big bucks and bulls would be awesome. Maybe just short photo and hunting tips splashed throughout the book.

Sign me up to help you move them Tony. You know I'm always willing to do what I can for you guys. I always owe you, Rod, Peter, Vince, and many of the other great photographers who have shared photos with the Monster Muleys crowd.

I would buy one in a heart beat. But think the hunter in the field and sheds should be in there. That way everyone knows all the pictures in the book didn't come from zoo shots or Yellowstone Park.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-08 AT 12:05PM (MST)[p]Yea, if we did one i'd want it to include more than just bucks. I want to do some sheep, goats, elk, bears, etc, AND some field shots, NOT grip-n-grin kill shots, but actual hunter action shots with wildlife in them. . .

Anyhow, I dont know how much text we would put in there because we may turn an interesting project into an impossible task.

On thing I know is that if we went too deep into this, it would cost us a LOT of cash, up front to make it worth doing. I think we could self publish it, but we would have to sell 5000 copies to earn back our money.

One way to make it more feasible would be to publish it through blurb and then allow people to buy direct from them. This is okay, but it makes the book expensive and we dont get paid! A book like this is a monument task and we still have to earn a living! LOL

We'll talk it over. . . . Thanks for the support!

Hope it comes together Tony.
Aside from your obviously fabulous wildlife shots the incredible landscape photography captures the mood of the wild places that we as hunters daydream about.
Save me a low copy number....

LAST EDITED ON Sep-24-08 AT 12:24PM (MST)[p]BTW, while rod and I do capture some of our images in national parks, we only shoot wild animals, neither of us ever has shot any zoo animals. . . and i've really only visited yellowstone, i've never shot there and never shown an image from there. . . .

You know what bullcalf, i like your idea even better, I'll bet we would sell more if we could photograph some ladies and put them in there, got any ideas? LOL

Thanks for the idea. . .
