I just put up a post about 71. Its not good. I haven't seen more than 3 bucks all year. The biggest being a puney 2x4 that techn. is probably two years old.
The best direction unfortunatley to go is to a better unit. I was going to hunt 71, but can't justify shooting what little bucks are their.
As a warning if you hunt 71... stay out of Pat Whitworths place.
NO one is allowed to hunt on his property. It is clearly marked and all the land below the Boundary trail north of Pebble all the way to the beginning of Inkom pass is Pat's and off limits. Fish and Game will be patroling the area as well as his family. All tresspassers and hunters will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. It has been a major problem! Some people think it is their god given right to do whatever they want.
I am not saying you will do it, just want to make it clear. I think you would rather me say something than let you make a big mistake.
Dave Hall's place is also off limits and being patrolled. We have more of a problem on Pat's place than on Dave's.

I am personally not hunting 71 because of the lack of deer I have seen. We had a really hard winter.
However, if I were, Inman Canyon is where I would be. Good access and more area for deer. I would steer clear of Blackrock canyon! Its a mad house! People running and gunning at anything that moves... including people.
Sorry for the glum outlook on the unit, but it's the truth. Its been hit hard for a long time.
