First year draw for archery mulies???

Well a plan for a OTC mule deer hunt in Idaho with my bro didn't pan out. We are trying to put a plan together for next year. Any suggestion on a draw we could put in for and be able to hunt it in the fall of 2009?? Not looking for anyways huge, just a buck with antlers is all we are looking for. A chance to get out and hunt animals that we've never even seen since we are both born and raised in the AK. Any suggestion would be great. Ideally we'd like to have an area we could hike in 5 miles and camp/hunt from here as this is the style of hunting we do up here in AK anyways.
