Just curious if anybody has bowhunted the extended archery on it anywhere or if its even huntable or would we be wasting our time back there. Just thought it might be a good way to get back there aways before we start walking. Thanks for any info.

Ya I just barely learned there was a trail there today. I seen four wheeler trailors parked there before but could never figure out what they were doing or where they had went.

That trail goes almost all the way to the top of the ridge between Big and Little Cottonwood canyons. Been up there a number of times. Have seen good bucks up there, only hunted up there once.

Good 4-wheeler ride though. There is one real tight spot that you have to "squeeze" the bike through. Other than that, easy ride.

xbow, I had a old neighbor who told me once he had used a 4 wheeler trail up big cottonwood. I thought at the time he was full of it but I guess maybe he wasn't. If you don't mind me asking where does it start? I'm not hunting but it may be a nice ride next summer. Thanks

My Dad calls the spot where you go through the boulders the "Birth Canal". It is a tight spot for sure and you can wreck your plastic if you are not careful. You also get to cross a waterfall and climb some knarly switchbacks. Its cool.

Jim, let's go. I'll do what I usually do and get off so that you can pilot my quad around the rock and try not to roll it off the edge.

Sicko. :)

We did it this morning and it is a hairy ride. Im glad the four wheeler was only a 350 anything bigger and i think we would of been at the bottom of a few cliffs. Or still stuck between the two rocks..

Honestly, how was it? PM me if you want but when I saw this thread I was pretty down. It hasnt generally had too much pressure late in the year so please keep it as DL as possible.

I was stopped up there a year ago when I was taking my bike off my trailer by one of the canyon patrol cops, and was told that the road is closed as of november first and opens back up sometime the first of the year. I asked if I could go up since I was there and he told me if he caught me he would ticket me and then left so did I. I dont remember seeing it posted anywhere but and I know it is open in the summer, so I would check just to be safe. You may run into the same guy I did and get a ticket.
