300 RUM Scope Question???

I have Weaver bases/rings on my RUM and have had the four base screws (that thread directly into the barrel) loosen up on me twice thise year. Maybe 40 shots between needing to re-tighten them. I've heard "Loctite" will hold them down but that's pretty permanent isn't it? Also, should I loctite all of the ring screws as well? Any first-hand advice/experience please!

Thanks guys!

I always loctite my scope rings...there are several strengths of loctite, I use the medium strength(mine is blue in color)so they hold, but you can still take apart. Now the high strength, will fuse your thread together, and no more coming apart! Make sure you have the rings you want, on the gun to start with. Check out the burris or leopold dove tails.

Get different bases!! I personally wouldn't use weavers. not a very good setup. try Leupold or Burris

A caliber like that needs nothing short of the best and the strongest!!

I used blue Loctite on my .300 RUM as mentioned in a previous post. I went with Talley bases and rings and have not a any problems. I have a 6x20 56MM Leupold and the rifle shoots consistantly under a 1" with 180gr Sirrocos and the scope stays put.
