UNCLE NOTCHES IDAHO DEER TAG

LAST EDITED ON Oct-27-08 AT 04:21PM (MST)[p]My uncle shot this a couple hundred yard off of my deers gut pile my brother spotted it perched on a ledge 50 yards above him and in a flash it was gone it run straight into my uncle and he shot it at a 20 yards and he tagged it with his Idaho deer tag they estimated him 5 1/2 years old Tom he measured 6-9 and 170 pounds.

Your Uncle is a horse! Carrying a 170 lb cat like that is no easy deal. That is a big lion.

I love the idea that another lion has bit the big one. I also know that in Utah, you need a lion hunting permit for lions, and a deer hunting permit for deer. Please explain how you can tag a lion with a deer tag?????

In ID you can use your deer tag to tag a lion....Good Stuff!

dleonard3, in Idaho a non-res can put a deer tag on a bear or lion, I've done it before with a bear. Great idea to manage the predators, I sure wish Utah would follow suit.
