WOWZA!

Nice job. I'm calling it the Vampire buck, cuz it was taken around Halloween and it looks like it's been sucking blood.

Awesome Buck!
Congrats!

"Yeah, I'll shoot him"

That buck was shot in my back yard... I wish I could connect on a buck like that someday, I've only seen a few like that around this unit.

Congrats to the hunter...

Thanks for all the great replies, especially Kicker!!!

Elkoholic, I replied to your PM.

Okay I'm awake now. That my friend is a beautiful buck. I cannot imagine dropping the hammer on a toad like that and waiting for the smoke to clear to see if your shot was true.

Congratulations, how about a few details on the events leading up to caping him out???

AWESOME BUCK!!! Clean the blood off the animal next time it makes for much better pictures lol. plus magazines prefer the clean photos anyway

Kicker,

I don't want to give too much away, but I can tell you that my brother got the shot at a mere 20 yards!!!

Thanks again for the great comments.

Great buck! Can't wait to get the issue and hear all the nitty gritty on the beast.

Congrats!

I chased him on the opener of the bow hunt this year. I watch a hunter come to 30 yards from the buck and the buck just sat down and the hunter had no idea how close he was to a toad.

Question for you, are you with the party that had twenty trailer's and almost a hundred people up there on the bow hunt?

utfireman,

No doubt he was a smart animal!

I am certainly not with that huge camp, and have stopped hunting the opening day of the bow hunt because of them! Luckily they only "hunt" Saturday morning, then pack-up and head out. I watched a group of 14 bucks leave the valley before sunrise as all the head-lamps flooded in! The rest of the season, my brother and I seemed to have it all to ourselves. Most the guys in that camp are dedicated hunters with tags in other regions, but archery is open statewide. I'm hoping that Utah goes through with one of the proposed tag changes to help break-up camps like that one.

Take care.

Well, I am glad that he didn't go to one of those guy's. They had one nice buck running around the hole with an arrow in him.
So were you able to see this buck's friends before the archery hunt started?
