Well, after hunting 3rd season in Colorado's unit 33 I am very disappointed. I heard it was going to be tuff but after seeing only one buck and very few does I shot this tiny little 4 point. So, I thought I would put up a post to see if any of you can beat me...lets see the smallest 4 points you guys have ever killed. The smallest one will be crowned the winner. By the way, mine is 15 inches wide.

"but by god, he had to die".....no sense leaving any witnesses.

I don't get it sometimes.

He looks happy in the photo, cut
the guy some slack.

If he had a frown on his face, it
would be a different story.

I have always said that if I would
not be happy with a buck, I will
not harvest it.

To each his own. Congrats!

That is a good meat buck. He looks like he has a good sized body. Lets hope he was a management kill too. Get him out of the gene pool, though almost too late this year.

Some of you guys are so self-righteous. Why can't you just hunt the way you want to and let others do the same? A guy comes on and shares a story (not just this one, but tons of others) and unless it is a monster buck, he is bound to take crap from you about the deer. Seems to me the # of posted pics is down from last year. I wonder why. Maybe because people like me are very hesitant to post pics any more because they don't want to deal with those of different views.

Ever stop to realize that if only the trophy hunters existed, hunting might disappear quickly???

I, for one, love seeing people enjoying this pasttime that gives me so much joy and chance to reflect away from the pressures of the modern world. If you want to debate what sort of animals you shoot or what your game management opinions are, by all means, start another post and do it. If you don't have a "great job" or "congratulations" to share, how about trying something novel--like taking your hands off the keyboard, moving one back to the mouse, and continuing on to another post.

That being said, I need to apologize as much as anyone for ruining your post. Thank you for sharing a picture. I hope you will continue to do so in the future, so people like me can enjoy. Most of all, I hope you had a good time hunting even though the game situation wasn't what you expected. For some of us, the experience is worth the animal no matter the size.

Filling a tag, is filling a tag.......if it happens to be huge then awesome! If it happens to be meat then :9!!!!! I seem to remember my grandpa telling me of a time when the real monsters were measured in pounds on the hoof rather than inches anyway, so it is all in the eye of the tag-holder! Love the buck dude!! Thanks for the post.

This is a great example of one of the biggest problems in hunting today. Everybody thinks what they believe is right and that is that everbody else is stupid and has no clue what they are talking about. Nobody can get together on anything even if its what is right and best for hunting. Its always hunters fighting hunters.
Sorry I just had to vent. Great buck, glad your happy with him.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward, whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both, for a wounded man shall say to his assailant "If I live I will kill you, If I die you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.

By whitetail stadards this is a four point. This was posted on a different forum, I can't believe someone found that.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-05-08 AT 02:31PM (MST)[p]These are not on hoof, but the one on the left is only 11 inches wide, but taller. I congradulate you on shooting that buck, he was as big as he was ever gonna get, bad genetics. He needed to be taken out so it doesn't get passed on. Look at the size of his body and neck!

It gets really old hearing all of the self righteous people on this website bash one another on every topic imaginable.

My brother and I killed a couple of decent bucks on the Book Cliffs this year, but there is no way in hell I'm posting any pictures on this website for the a-holes to pick apart and find something I did wrong, in their opinion. And I also agree with you about there being fewer pictures posted this year compared to years past. I don't think that it's just a coincidence.

BTW, nice buck fuzzy.
