How did Scoot do?

LAST EDITED ON Nov-06-08 AT 08:00PM (MST)[p]If it is the Scoot that moved from Utah to Nevada a couple of years ago, he shot a dandy buck.

Im not sure if its him or not .I just know he had a tag this year for the Henrys .I thought he said he was a resident. I was just wondering if anyone knew or if anyone had a picture. He had a few posts on here before the hunt but none after.

LAST EDITED ON Nov-11-08 AT 02:34PM (MST)[p]Did the three of you apply as a group? I think I saw that 3 guys drew the tag with 11 points...are those three you and your family or friends you were hunting with?

We did apply as a group. I wish it only took 11 points. We had more then that. We are all just friends. We worked as a team to get all three bucks. I can write the whole story if you want to hear. When I get more time.

Great group there. I'd like to hear the story behind all 3 if you are up for writing it.

Way to go to all the hunters who downed these bucks.

Well for 3 lucky guys it only took 11 points!!! Ha, ha!!!

You guys probably have my drawing luck...only draw when it's mathematically impossible not to!

Good job on the bucks.

well here is the story we went down two days early to do a little more scouting . we really did not see what we wanted the first two days of scouting. so opening morning we all split up and went different ways to cover more ground. I passed on probably 80 bucks opening day most were heavy horned 4 points just a little crabby alot did not have eyegaurds I also seen a few non typicals but did not think they would look good on the wall. So went back to camp amd regrouped. Sunday morning we thought seen a shooter 200 yards away with his back turned towards us proably 28 inches wide heavy horned four point with eye gaurds but when he turned his right side on the back was completely broke off so i passed. In the afternoon we seen a few more deer hiked up close to a few but decided to pass also. About 4 in the afternoon we spotted the deer in the top photo we watched him for 30 to 45 minutes before I decided that he was a great looking buck very sysmetrical and boxy looking with eyeguards plus he was tall so the stock was on. He was 1500 yards off the road so we left a guy on top with the scope and turned the radios on and we started walking hoping to get below him so that if he spooked I would be able to get a shot. The wind was blowing just perfect it was blowing in our face so the buck had know chance of smelling us. We got 10 feet from the deer according to the spotter I still could not see him then the spotter said he basically belly crawled out of his bed and started heading down the ravine. I ran to get to the ravine I saw him at about 70 yards on the move I must of had buck fever i missed him four times. Thought that I would not see him again I kept walking over the next hill sat down and sure enough he came out across the other side at about 250 300 yards on the run I again missed the first shot but got him on the second shot what a relieve. It was a great DIY hunt the most fun I have had in along time. I know there is bigger deer down there but i just could not pass this one up the trophy is in the eye of the beholder and it did not cost me thousands of dollars. So 2008 has been a lucky year for me drew a henrys deer tag and after waiting 9 years to have a baby I finally got a baby boy this year will be a hard one to top. Scoot
