HUGE Utah Bowkill from this week

Here's a picture I received this week from a pretty good source. The story is that this buck was killed up here on the Extended Hunt Tuesday night with a bow. I was told that the bow-hunters name is Travis Gates. The buck is supposed to score around 220. Thats all I know. I hope my info is accurate. If anybody as any more info on this buck, please help us out. Anyway, what an awesome buck!!!!! HUGE congrats to Travis on just an unbelievable bowkill!! One of the best I have ever seen!

Thanks for the interest in my deer. I shot it on the Wasatch Front Tuesday afternoon. I have had a couple of scores in the range of 220 to 226 non-typical and he's got an outside spread of 36 3/4". If anyone has an idea of where that score would place him in Utah, I would be interested to know, all I can find is the score of the state record. Travis, as far as where that buck would rank in Utah: under the hard-horned category for Pope and Young, there are 6 that Net Score over 220 (as of last year). If you put the Hard Horned and the Velvet bucks into that category, there are 11 bucks total that go over 220 Net Pope and Young. So, I dont know if you were talking gross score or net score for your buck, but either way, he's awesome! You can shoot me a pm if you would like more specifics. Anyway, again congrats on just an absolutely awesome buck!!! And are we going to hear more about the story and the details of the hunt anytime soon??......

I'm not buying it...wheres the DNA test? There's no deer on the front...I was out and hiked my azz off tonight and saw a doe and trophy fork horn!!

Incredible buck! Must have been a rush to be within bow range and make it happen. Wish I could have been there. Good job and congrats. The front really does have some great deer.
