I live here on the North Eastern region and personally this years deer season in my opinion just wasn't that great I was helping my dad during the rifle hunt and we only seen a hand ful of little dinky 2 points he never did end up even shooting at a deer we took horses out several times and hiked into some areas that have produced before and just didn't see what we have in years before. We did see alot of orange though it was like no matter what you just couldn't get away from the crowds we had some orange speckled mountains there for the whole hunt. If your into killing spikes or two points you might do alright!! Good Luck

I spent a lot of time in the NE region this year. Deer numbers were down in the areas I normally hunt.

Hunted HARD for 5 days. seen lots of does and 2 bucks... a 2 point and a spike. Last year saw many bucks and several mature bucks. I got a 3 point with a 23" spread that scores 129 1/2. My buddies shot at 2 others that were both 4 points and would probably score 140 to 150. On the Elk Hunt I saw about 2 dozen bucks come over a ridge, about 5 of them were young bucks and the rest were mature. With one of them well over 30" spread with trash.
