Are in/line cheaters on muleys a rare thing? I would thing most would say that the genetics should be taken out of the herd. What is your thoughts?

cheaters, trash, stickers are always a good thing in my book. High wide and heavy with trash is every muley hunters dream. Or atleast mine anyways.

I don't know that they are rare I would have to say though that I have seen more bucks with and inline cheater rather than outside kicker or something other hanging off the beam. But I have not seen alot of cheater bucks either. very few and maybe the inline is just a characteristic that is in the area I have seen these deer. The first cheater buck I ever killed was this year and he had inlines on both sides making him a 5x5 infact he is in the muledeer forum probably page 2 by now its 08 Extended archery kill if ya wanna take a peek

Southslope82 that is a nice deer. I killed one this year also and it had a kicker, split brow tine and in/line cheaters on both sides. The deer I got is on page 4 I got this deer with the gun. It just seems that I haven't seen many on here before.

I killed a buck in Az. this year that has an inline on each fork for a total of 4 all between 6-8+ inches. It will be in an upcoming issue of Muley Crazy. Sorry for the tease! It scores 218 3/8 gross green.

camuleycrazy that must be a very unique buck. I really like the in/line cheaters on a buck. That buck I got is on page 4 "nebo" author and "here is the buck I took in gun season"

I wouldn't say that in-lines and cheaters are the rare thing.I think that if you did a comparison between all the 6+ year old bucks harvested(or photographed) that the majority would have a non-typical point or two.

The rarer part may be finding a buck that lives long enough to actually grow them.(In most general hunting units)

I personally love the sight of the trash!

Just my thoughts on the matter-

That is interesting what you said with age of deer having some trash at 6.5 year old. The deer I got which I can speak for was aged at 6.5 years old and could of been 7.5 years old. A 6 and 7 year old can be very close when aging the teeth. Thanks for the input.

I enjoy seeing extras on a nice typical frame. To me, a "cheater" has always been something different than an "inline" point. For me a cheater is a point that sticks out beyond the typical frame, thus "cheating" on the width measurement (i.e. a 26 inch buck that is 32 inches wide going from cheater to cheater). I believe that BCBOY has posted a few pics of a nice buck he took like that.
Whatever you want to call them, if they are big, I like them!
