UNIT 21 Colorado

I have 8 points and should have a shot at non resident deer in unit 21 this year..Did any of you hunt there in 2008? What was the quality and numbers like in that unit in 2008? I will be hunting with my father and he is 72 years old and his health is sliding downhill.. This very well could be the last out of state hunt we take togather after a lifetime of hunting togather...I would like to make the most of it and know something about what to expect to burn 8 points.

I know winter kill has been an issue in alot of units , but I dont have time on my side with my ageing father.. Can anyone help with any information on unit 21??? You can pm me if you would rather not post information on here to the public.. Thank you..

My brother and I hunted Unit 21 second season. We were given glowing reports before we went, but we saw very few deer. After 5 1/2 days, we left empty-handed, having seen about 7 bucks and 40 does between the two of us. We only saw one 22" buck taken during our entire hunt. At the end of our hunt, a conservation officer told us that they believed the winter kill was worse than originally thought.

I saw plenty of bucks pre archery season, and have a friend who has quided there a lot. He saw plenty of bucks post rifle seasons too. Lots of deer. You just have to know where to hunt.

I am also in the same boat with 9 colorado resident points. I was wanting to hunt 21 3rd season next year. should I save my points for a couple more years or give it a shot? feel free to pm me. thanks
