Here is a photo of my pedestal mount. Kevin Peterson did the work on this buck. He is out of Logan and I think he is one of the best around. This is a buck I killed in Idaho, with a general tag, on Public land. Any guesses on the score. Would love to hear what some people think he goes.

CONGRATS ON A GREAT BUCK!!!! Very impressive buck and mount. Off the top of my head I would guess he gross'right around 200 total points. However, who cares about the score. Your buck is a todd, impressive, has character and is a great buck to look at. I have seen bucks that may score high, but are butt ugly!! Congrats again on a great, good looking buck!!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-16-08 AT 01:31PM (MST)[p]What a pretty son a gun!! Beautiful job on the mount.

I'd put him between 215-220 gross! dandy!

Edit; i looked him over again and best had modify
205-210 still a Dandy buck!

Joey

I would see is right close 195-205 gross with the trash that he has - I love to see huge general season deer man that is awesome

Is it me or does it look like two different capes. The cape on the mount looks darker than the harvest pic. Doesn't look as big in the neck and face. Maybe it is just the lighting. Not bagging on the buck or the mount, just doesn't look like the same cape to me. Awesome deer for sure and I love the pedestal.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-16-08 AT 04:15PM (MST)[p]Im gonna say he is a 9x8 30in wide with a main frame of 185 so right at 215 gross and 210 net. It may be just the pic but that mount looks like rookie did it.

Awsome Buck Dude.....I will say he will go 227. Huge Frame and big extras. Love it.:D:D:D

That is awesome buck and definetly a once in ten lifetimes deer on Public Land. Congrats to you on a true trophy. I am going to agree with the above scores. His Main Frame is the tough one. From the Pitures I am going to say 185-190 with those long eyegaurds. On top of that he has 20-23 inches of extras. That puts him in the 210-215 range in my eyes. Put a tape on him and let us know. What a beautiful public land muley. Congrats!!

LAST EDITED ON Dec-17-08 AT 08:56AM (MST)[p]Thanks everybody. This buck is my best to date. I had a shot at a better one with my bow this year In Utah during the general archery, that was a 10x12 that would of gone 230" He was at 80yds for a good 1/2 hour. 20 yds more and he would of been toast. This buck, was an amazing animal. I hunt Idaho every year, during the general Hunt. I just know were a few big bucks hang out. I was actually putting the move on about a 34" typical that would of gone around 180", when I came across this guy.

During this hunt earlier in the day, I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a 170" class trashy buck, when out of nowhere a guy shot him and 3 other deer and then just left them. I called the game and fish, and they arrested him. I was pretty bummed that the buck that I wanted was now dead, to the hands of a poacher. So I went to another area that I knew held some good bucks in the past. I found this guy and the rest is history. I had gone through this scenario of making the shot on a monster like this through my head hundreds of times in the past. I thought I would be an absolute mess with adrenaline putting the crosshairs on him. Suprisingly I was calm as can be. Cant explain it. Although when I drew back on this buck this year with my bow, I was the complete opposite. I could barely pull my bow back. Go figure.

He is a 9x8 and grosses right at 215. 31" wide and 185 main frame. Truly a buck that deserves to be put on a pedestal in my living room so I can honor him every day.

I just hope that Utah buck made it through the season and through the winter.

Here is a better angle. The capes are the same. One picture had flash the other didn't.

Nice buck ,I dont belive thats the same cape, look at the color on the skull cap between the eye and horn . The dead deer in the photo has no brown there ,the mount has a lot, ears seem to be a little different, not much. Iam not trying to bring you down at all, but again Its not the same one. Many things can happen to a hide when there sent to a tannery, The main thing his done and you got a monter buck that we would all be proud to have, also you should groom him , photo will pick up any messed up hair spots and make them look worse, congrates again
