With a little natural work and than some WAM this is what he looks like. Posted before he was killed in archery season and was starting to lose velvet so I peeled it all off.

it looks great. that is a noce buck. but if i was doing it i would have whitened the skull first.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-18-08 AT 09:29PM (MST)[p]Paint on 40% peroxide with a brush. I thought about cleaning up the skull all the way first, but with using tree branches and sagebrush and mud the skull would have ended up having to be touched up again anyways. But thanks for the thought. is I posted this to see what others thought and welcome all comments both good and bad, before if I think he look good and others think he looks bad i really want to know.
Thanks in advance for any input

It looks pretty good. If it was me i would darken up around the bases and browtines a little. Its usually the darkest part of the horns. Just my 2 cents!

good point i have never darkened one so i had no idea what it was like. mud and sage brush huh? what esactly did u do? i would like to try some myself and that turned out great

Nice job - I like it.. Congrats on another really solid buck. You have too many honey holes.

Thanks Jim
You guys did a great job as usual this year. I look forward to seeing the hogs you guys take every year. I should of tried to save the velvet but things did not work out. I am very happy with this deer since I was building our new house all summer and most of the archery season. You probally seen it going up on your way into torrington. It was the new one going up above the rock shop. i will have to bring the rack by for you to look at. Most people think it looks like a whitetail rack.

Thanks,
i will try to darken up around the bases a little more and still want to little up the points just a little.
