Sunday drive in Southern WA

Took a Sunday drive today and happened onto this buck. The kids all got to see which was real cool. I couldn't get a real clear picture but he looked to be about 27" wide or so.

They look like our Southern CA deer..part blacktail..if so, he's a real good one!

I didn't pick up on that. I guess their tails are mostly black. Mule deer/blacktail cross? Kind of cool.

That one is real nice for a Benchbuck! I grew up hunting in Klickitat Co. and those are the tails I remember seeing going away from me in the Oak thickets!!!
I would say you were some where east of Hwy. 97 in central Klickitat Co.?

Of all the years we hunted the Simcoe Mnts. the biggest buck was taken by my uncle, it was a 26" wide 3x4. Most bucks were 15-20" wide and usually were 2x3 and 3x4's.

Your pretty much right on finnman. I am new the Washington and am trying to learn the country. Seeing this buck was a huge bonus.
