Did a Muzzle loader hunt in southern AZ and left for the hunt Xmas morning. Shot a deer this monday at high noon on the 5th day. Have to admit some luck was with me on this deer, not my usual ass busting to get my tag punched but I will take it any way I can. He is not huge but ranks high on cool factor with being real white and still has a lot of velvet strips on him. Tough hunt, even went one day without even seeing a MD doe. Seen lots of coues deer though. Slept in the rental SUV and damn it got cold one night as you can see!

good looking country though, you would never guess it is AZ

he has 2 little drops that are really cool but hard to see.
Sorry about the bloody photos but this was something that never happened to me before. I took a gallon of water out there (seen in picture) and washed his face off 4 times but the blood kept foaming out his nose like I never seen before, it just never stopped for probably 20 minutes! you can even see some on the ground where I tried to drag him away from the blood for the pictures.

I love the buck and the pictures, and dont worry about the blood, I think we can handle it. :)

are you sure?? that Bobcat guy is kind of a puzzy

That is a cool buck. How old do you think he was? Those droppers would've turned out pretty nice!

Congrats!

Great buck! That video is dang funny also. I was down there deer hunting near the border a few years back and our camp was surrounded by hellicopters in the middle of the night. Apparently we were in the middle of a "travel" zone. The border patrol would drag tires across the road at night to be able to see fresh tracks... it made it nice spot fresh deer tracks too.

There shouldn't be a limit on those that try to sneak across the border! That really pisses me off!! Like we need more of them here for our taxes to pay for. They oughta be over the counter tags given out by the thousands.

Steve

Nice buck!!

That is a really col buck for this time of year,Not a broken tine .Congrats on a great deer.

Nice Buck, Nice Country, Looks like the country a buddy of mine lives Sonoita, was down there last year, just visiting talk to a local cowboy that works for a big ranch he said he was riding the fence line of the ranch and saw to huge muleys, the locals dont think much of the mule deer they call them carp deer, there into the coues.

Your right, the coues deer get a lot of hunting pressure and attention compared to Muleys, and there just is not many Muleys down there like there used to be. I went one day without even seeing a MD period. Never seemed to be short on finding coues deer though, they are everywhere you seem to look.

Pretty buck schmalts. Looks like it was a great trip. Gonna put in for a coues tag? Congrats. mtmuley

funny thing is the tag I had was good for either. The coues just do not appeal to me for some reason. I did see one I was going to try and shoot after spending some time setting up the spotter and killing time, but by the time I made up my mind it was too late and he slipped into the creek bottom. He was probably near 90 inches, but I am no judge of those deer by any means.
The biggest reason I put in for this tag is it falls durinng the holidays and I am off work anyway so I did not need to burn vacation. Although it was tough leaving that time of year as well with the family and all.

HEY schmalts!!!

NICE BUCK!!!

BUT IS THAT THE MOST BLOOD YOU COULD DRAW???

"I'M NOT COMPLAINING,I'M TELLING IT THE WAY IT IS,SOME OF YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT,THATS O.K.,SOMETIMES THE TRUTH HURTS & YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT IT,OR YOU FIND OUT WHAT THE FACTS ARE,STAND UP & VOICE YOUR OWN OPINION,THIS IS STILL AMERICA THE LAST TIME I CHECKED"!!!
