THERE'S ONLY ONE bobcat!!!

2008 Muzzleloader 30 inches wide, killed nov. 3rd 2008 in southern utah. Limited Entry-Paunsagaunt Unit

Sweet buck and looks like a 3x4. I think I'd be tickled to death with that buck on a management tag and a regular tag too.

Congrats to the lucky hunter.

Well there goes my chance for drawing with 6 pts.for a management buck,like I had a chance!Great picture,great buck.Would take him in a heartbeat.(ROD)

LAST EDITED ON Jan-04-09 AT 10:39AM (MST)[p]The widest buck I saw on my '99 pauns hunt was a giant 3 point. I just about punched him out. It would have been a great management buck.

I continue to read the managment buck. If you have drawn on a limited entry unit (please excuse my lack of knowledge) why are so mant managment deer being taken. I do understand the reasoning of taking 3x's but I'm not sure about the taking of managment deer on premium L/E units.

That is an AWSOME BUCK, theres something about a big tall buck that gets me worked up.

cantkillathing, the managment tag are for bucks with at least 3 points on one side, the other side could have 15 to 20 points on it as long as it has only 3 points above the first fork in the mainbeam it is a managment buck, brow tines dont count as they are below the first fork on the mainbeam.

Wow, that is another DWR mistake, I believe at one point when they were coming up with this it was 3x3 or smaller atleast that is what I was hoping, but again they will screw things up just another way to kill more bucks off of the Henries, because they wanted to issue more buck tags, but nobody wanted more buck tags given so they come up with this great plan. what a bunch of idiots. I really do believe the DWR managed the dino's and probably big foot.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-04-09 AT 10:42PM (MST)[p]Jake I know what you was trying to say but it is not a buck with atleast 3 points it is no more then 3 points on one side

Page 30 in 2009 proc "A ?management buck? is a buck deer with 3 points or fewer on at least one antler, above the first fork but not including the eye guard. The eye guard does not count as a point. A point is a projection that's longer than one inch, measured from its base to its tip, including damaged or broken antlers."

LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-09 AT 03:15PM (MST)[p]I think theyre similar but not the same deer. His G2, G4 curve more on the 3 point side. I wish that buck was an even four--book for sure!

LAST EDITED ON Jan-05-09 AT 10:32PM (MST)[p]ahh yes you are correct Uthunter, my bad I was going off of memory didnt feel like looking it up. Thanks for the correction.

I dont think they are the same buck because the dead buck has a G-3 and not a G-4 on the 3 point side. The live buck has a G-4 and not a G-3 on his 3 point side. At first I thought the same thing as you when you put this up. Both are HOG BUCKS and shooters in my book.

You are right shows how bad I looked I thought they might be the same but forks are not the same GOOD EYE I would shoot both

>That is exactly what I was
>going to say-
> Just think that toad
>qualifies as managment

Don't forget the eye guards count. The 09' Proc. says anything measuring over an inch is considered point. Good luck with a decent management buck without eye guards.

Trophyhunter,go back and read no. 13 post.Eye guards do not count towards points on management bucks. Thanks(ROD)

not worth 8 points and 2 year waiting period maybe 3 points...on the pauns you can see 50 just like him a day!!!!!!!!!!!
but if you want a mgmt buck .......................!

The proc says it must be 3 or less on one side not counting eyeguards which I think is thier first mistake because there are going to be some nice broken up deer being shot that normally wouldnt qualify as a mngmnt buck but they did do one thing right that will probably keep some of those dishonest hunters trying to break off horns to make bucks qualify the proc says all management bucks must be checked within 72 hours of harvest hopefully that will keep some honesty in there!!
Thats a dang nice deer for a three by four though congrats to him!!

Now THAT'S a Management buck! Holy smokes... Great deer! Congrats to the hunter, that's a dandy smokepole trophy!
