First off let me state that I am not looking for honey holes!
My question is this; how much public land is there on this unit? What about accessability? Are there roads all over or can you wlk ridges away from roads and pressure?
I just looked at the map on the DWR website and I'm a little confused about what areas you can and can't hunt.
I'm looking for a unit to put my wife in for this year. She has 6 points and wants to shoot a 4 point. Score does not matter to us, she just wants a 4 point. All of her previous deer have been smaller 2 and 3 points and I think she is loosing interest in hunting them so I want to find her a better buck to shoot.

Thanks.

Huge public land area! Plenty of room to roam, numerous, numerous roads to travel, tons of deer to kill and lots of fun. Put her in and good luck!

Hey elk, we hunted there this year and it would be an awsome hunt for your wife. You will see alot of bucks every day and it should be no problem to find her a four point. All the private land is well marked, and you have plenty of public land perfect to get your wife excited about hunting again.

I hunted it 2yrs ago and she can look at hundreds of bucks from the road. If score does not matter she will be done in a day.
The roads are kept nice by the trucking companies that service the many rigs that are now on the Book Cliffs.
