Colorado units 55 and 54 over rated??

Considering the few big bucks produced during last years new 4th season in these units do people think they are over hyped?

The number of tags has increased over the last couple of years. Has this been enough to clip the top end bucks out of the unit.

I was expecting more big bucks to be produced during the 4th season.

Any thoughts?

Considering Garth has listed these units as the top units in CO for killing a big bucks, I know where I'm not applying. Don't get me wrong, there are probably a few big bucks left in that unit but it has been hammered the last few years. Heck of pretty place to hunt though. I know a guy that hunted unit 54 on the 4th season and he didn't see a buck worth shooting and he's a pretty good hunter. I know one thing, the biggest bucks in the state are not coming from this unit. If you want a honest shot a 160-170 class buck either unit will do.

I had heard the same thing about the 4th season. I wonder if something else is going on. The units have been getting hammered but the over all number of tags is still conservative and much lower then the majority of the state.
