I use the NRCS site quite a bit to check the snowpack for all of the states around Wyoming. Seems like it is the time of year when people really start getting concerned about snow depth and the effect of winter on our muleys, so thought I'd post the link I use. It's worth saving - I check it once a week or so.

Here it is:

I'm always hoping we get good moisture, but little to no winter kill.

Good hunting to all.

This is the site that I use. I use it regularly to decide where to snowmobile. It really is not a good gauge to see what affect the snowpack will have on mule deer, as most of these snotels are above 8000 ft and not in mule deer wintering areas. To gauge a winters affect on mule deer I just look at the foothills. If there is still sagebrush showing through the snow...good. If the south facing slopes are close to bare....good. If not....bad.
