Hey fellas....and gals. I would like to hear your opinions and
input using technoligy equipment for scouting game whether its being used for watching elk, deer, etc. How far can you get w/ the use of technoligy to scout game before it's considered not being fair. Alot of us use only binoculars and spotting scopes, some of us use digital trail cams. Well I have come to know of satellite video cameras which are run by antanea, solar cells, a monitor and of course the video camera equiped w/ up to 125mm lens. You can be home on your computer operating your cameras thousands of miles away. So...how far is going to far in the use of technoligy to scouting your game?

I'm afraid we are going to need some news laws and mostly I hate new laws.

Not true but most of our wildlife out west is a finate resource. When the scales of success tip too much in favor of higher methods of success we have to cut back in some manner. It comes in the form of fewer tags, less opportunity or more restrictive hunt methods, pick your poison. It's an integral part of wildlife management and in order to control the numbers you have to regulate it in some fashion especially with decreasing resources throughout the west. Some of you younger guys haven't ever seen the days of no hunting for a couple or more years in units to let the resource grow and have becomed totally spoiled by the methods of today. Thank god those that came before you exercised conservation as part of huntings mantra or you would have never been able to enjoy the experience. There has to be a balance and when man tips the scales too much in his favor those entrusted to protect the resource will level the field, just as it should be, so future generations will be able to hunt. It's coming so you might as well start getting accustomed to the thought, that way you won't be so shocked when some of it disappears.
