I'd like to congratulate my friend Devin for making the cover of Eastmans Bowhunting Journal with his amazing highcountry buck.

Devin is as persistent and determined as anyone i know and to say he worked hard for this buck is an understatement. I feel very fortunate to have been able to experience the hunt, its something i will never forget.

For those who don't get the magazine here is a link to the story.

Congrats buddy, you earned it!

Just got my copy today and read through it. They did a great job on this issue as usual. The cover buck is unbelievable.

I was sad to read that Cameron Hanes has left the magazine though.

Great story and even better cover photo! Congratulations to your friend.

does anyone know if the magazine is available in stores yet? I havent been sent mine and i would like to go pick one up.

Ryan,

That is one amazing buck! Nice to see he got him! My Dad had a similar thing happen a few years ago. The "big" buck went into the pines in the lead of 2 other bucks. He touched the trigger as the lead buck broke out on his side of the trees and poof he pounded the 2nd best buck of the group! Kind of hurts to watch "your" buck run off unscathed! Tell your bud congrats on sticking with it and killing the buck of a lifetime!

Rammu,

Not sure if they are in the stores yet. I got mine saturday in the mail.

Thanks Ryan.

Thanks for the kind words I'm glad you guys liked my story and pics. I had no idea how hard it was to write a good story until now. I give props to the hunters who have written hunting articles, its no easy task. I definitely wasn?t born a writer but look forward to the challenge.

Houdini is my dream buck, there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about the experience and many lessons learned. I feel very fortunate to have harvested such a beautiful animal.

I had three great friends helping me the day I harvested the biggest buck of my life. That day Dini had covered lots of ground and crossed a couple different ridges and without these guys we wouldn't have been able to keep track of him. Teamwork was the secret ingredient in this hunt. I can't thank these guys enough. Thanks guys

That was one of the very best bowhunting articles I have read in a long time.

True bowhunting and ethical responsible tactics/shooting.

The background in some of those article photo's are awesome!

congrats

Devin, awesome to see and read about your buck on the cover!! Your pics were great too!! It's so fun to see a big old buck like that get taken with a bow in the high rugged stuff by a guy that has put in his time, effort, and appreciates that kind of a trophy. I hear the phrase "the buck of a lifetime" over and over again. Although 200" muleys with a bow normally do fall into that category, I'd put my $ that you may just do it again! That's what I'm trying to do!!! If I never get there, thats okay!!! It's a heck of a ride along the way! Congrats again on your buck and on your cover story. I know that's not why we hunt (to get on the cover of a mag, etc.) but it is fun to see that! Stay in touch! Kip
