So haveve they closed their stores as a result of the recent bankruptcy filing? That is not usually how it is done. I am out of the country so I am kind of out of the loop.

Here in Nevada (Las Vegas) they're closing 2 stors that just opened in the last 6 months. I haven't heard of any of them re-opening at a later date. In fact, they were taking the store apart last weekend and they solds me an Alpen spotting scope for $120.00!!

I heard that some of the stores were not havung a sale on there closing, but the venders are taking there items back and placeing them in other stores.

SO???

WILL THEY HAVE SOME BULLETS,POWDER & PRIMERS TO SELL WHEN THEY RE-OPEN???

IT'S BEEN KINDA LIKE GOING DOWN TO A HARDWARE STORE THAT DOESN'T HAVE ANY NAILS TO SALE!!!

I was there last week (Visalia) and one of the employes told me that there is a good possibility that they will be reopening...1manshow

I am sorry to hear that sw is going out of buissness but like alot of others out there the hunting community is weeding out the weak. When people start spending less money there has to be a give and take.In this case sw just could not compete with the cabbelas and the bass pro shops of the world. I am sad to see this happen but they were not a destination shopping point they were in the middle which is what hurt them. I wish the govt would have let gm do the same thing as well as some of the banks it could have saved us billons or maybe they can ask for a bailout too.

I cant imagine them staying in business with the poor inventory they keep. It is no wonder that they cannot compete with the big boys. I dont know any business that could keep their doors open if they dont have the goods that the people demand.

Sportsmans Warehouse is done. Dont buy any gift cards, or merchandise you may want to return at a later date!! I am warning everyone who reads this. I know multiple people in management at the stores and corporate level. Not only will they be shutting down the stores that are already announced, they will ALL close by the end of summer. "There has never been any retail company of this size that has filed for chapter 11 and ever come back to survive, we hope to be the first." Coming from Stu the owner of sportsmans warehouse. I am in the sporting goods world and they have burned WAY WAY WAY to many very large vendors with no payments and late payments, to ever ever consider getting any credit or shipments from any of them. Its to bad they were a great shop with good prices. They will be a gonner very shortly.
