Fawn Distress call

Looking for a call that will bring in does in to bow range with a fawn decoy. Will it work for either whitetail or mule deer
Will be doing this in sept in montana with nephew
First time bow hunting and calling into range of blind
Need something easy to do so we can get good shot oppurtunity
If you dont reccomend a fawn decoy what is the best way to get them. I will be hunting where there are muleys and whitetails and will have surplus doe tags for both.

I've called in several muley does (close) when attempting to call black bears with a rabbit in distress predator call. No black bears yet!!!

LAST EDITED ON Apr-02-09 AT 07:50AM (MST)[p]All you need is an open reed predator call. You can easily make a fawn in distress call with one. I use it all the time. It has worked better for me with mule deer than whitetail. Shot my two does with a bow using a predator call last year. One at 20 yards and one just under 40. Works good with two guys. Set the shooter up out in front of you and slightly off to the side so that the deer will come in focussed on the caller and not the shooter. Shooter should get a nice close shot.
