i drew out for the any weapon hunt on the vernon unit this year but there has been alot of poaching talk on here lately on this unit is there some good bucks and does anyone know what part of the unit it was taking place on

I'll bet poaching happens on lots of un-named units also! And if a person works hard and does his homework can kill a good buck on Vernon or other units. Sure, some idiot poaching does effect the deer herd and quality. But so does the DWR giving too many tags, Banquet tags and landowner rags! This unit is close to the wasatch front which means it gets pressured more than a remote unit like the Henrys. Lots of folks run out to look and scout even without tags. Ya gotta really want to go to the Henrys! But there are some good bucks on Vernon. Good Luck! Remember that pulling the trigger is just the final act of what should be a great memory. It's the planning and scouting and camping and hunting that make up the majority of the experience. Don't worry so much about the sky falling that ya don't enjoy the sunrise!

I was out there rabbit hunting this winter and seen two nice bucks. The weren't more then 24 inches wide but very tall and heavy.

Hey Bckhhntr
I drew that tag last year and although I am sure the poaching hurt it, I would imagine there are still some nice bucks out there. I saw several good bucks all over the unit when I was scouting last year. PM me if you need any ideas on scouting.

Any pointers on where to start looking. I would apreciate any help and dont expect anyone to give up any honey holes, just would like some pointers on where to start looking. thanks.
