Idaho Unit 41 Desert Area

Need some advice, I always hunt unit 39. I like to put in for unit 41. Is there a chance of killing a decent buck in this area? I don't have problem going home, not filling my tag, just
like to hunt hard, after the big boys. Thanks Mike

41 has some big boys in it. Spend lots of time scouting, tons of glassing and you'll find a decent buck. Lots of people hunt the NV/ID border east of the reservation but I think better ground can be found west of the highway.

For the most part it will be a 5 mile walk to the canyons. Without knowing the roads to be closed I would wonder about access. I know all my chukar hunting spots are going to be closed. Ron

Does any one know if they will close the roads before deer season? I am going to put in for the draw for that area. i will call fish & game, & BLM see if they know anything. For a non resident draw, I might get lucky, never have before. Been doing research sure like the area. Thanks for the information.Mike

When is the best time hunt, in this area. My son get doesn't get alot of vacation time, one week. Towards the end, is that the best time. We can't scout we live in CA. Thanks Mike
