Back From Wyo 'G' Scouting

I am certainly having 2nd thoughts-----about doing my max Wyo Deer points on 102....

Yeh--I got a very wet A** and busted said A** a couple itmes in the steep and very wet mountain I took a couple hiking/scouting cruises up and on.

Plenty of bucks out past the ears----did I say plenty?

Yes 8 bucks total out past the ears in velvet and not a single fork showing.... about 12 bucks with forks and about ears wide or less....does with twin fawns....... boo-coo elk with calves and even some velvet bulls.

Only 1 bull moose for you guys with #26 moose....he has potential but is not in that stage yet...

I never drove my truck once I set-up camp......I just hiked from the camp spot out each morning......

I wanted to go on evening hikes/scouting........but them dang 'Molson Beers' kinda had me wanting to run the generator and watch the new GGW DVD's on the built in 27-HDTV....DVD....

If any of ya draw 'G'....you should have a great hunt!

That's some good news. I'm tagless up to this point. I'm hoping that a Region G tag comes my way. We applied for the Special tag with one point. I'm thinking we should draw. I have to believe that the WY point system, really helps us draw G, while others wait for the tougher draws.

You won't draw 102 anyway that's my tag this year.But if we both draw can I come over to your camp?have never seen any of the GGW yet.
Sounds like the deer did well last winter and plenty of good feed.
I am thinking the same thing should have tried for a G tag oh well guess we will have to settle for 102 instead.

You need to stop in next time you are up this way. Thanks for the trailer advice (from last year). I finaly went out and found one.

It was just one of those days on the mountain where everything seemed to be just right.

The weather and the real quiet hiking made for a good day for the animals to be out and about late into the morning......instead of it being mid-70's by 1000 am and buggy...

It would rain and I would get under a pine tree if I could get to one and then just wait out the rain by glassing.
The sun would break out and animals seemed to be everywhere I glassed.

The GGW DVD's are like a 5 year tradition now for fall hunt camp....along with Never Enough, MossBack elk and Awesome Bulls ....the new ones each year.

LP--'D Day' is the 20th for Da Warden being back home....gulp!! ha

Hunted G last fall, and what a great hunt and experience. Work your butt off and it will pay!!

Great news. I hunted H for years and put in for moose in 26. I have also been saving the points for 102 (me my wife and my three boys), sounds like everyone and there dog is in for 102. Taked to the wardens and still have someone every year go to H and G to see if the deer are coming back from the bad winter about Three and four years ago.

See how this year go's and the hunt reports and I may be back in for the unit hunts and leave the wife and boys to 102.

I would guess that the bowhunt for G would be great.

Maybe have both rifle and bow in camp and hunt bow, if ya can't get under that 40 yard mark then atleast have the rifle for Sept 15th rifle opener in most G units.

Glad to see "everyone" is appllying for 102. That would mean nobody applied for 128 and my sons and I will finally get our tags this year!!!!!

Acording to the website, only one more week until the results are out.
