TALL and NARROW

Those are both awesome! Exactly what I was hoping for. Love the eyeguards on EFudds. Keep em coming!

You prefer Tall, Heavy, and Narrow bucks!

I prefer Tall, Heavy, and Wide bucks!

At least we both like Tall, Heavy Bucks :)

ElmerFudd,
Was that buck published in Huntin' Fool or another magazine? 128 late?

I don't have anything against wide bucks, but I think the tall, heavy, narrow bucks are sometimes underappreciated. If I had the choice of a willow horned cookie cutter 24-28" buck and a 20" buck with huge G-2's and lots of mass, I would take the tall narrow guy any day. Thanks for posting some great pics.

I really like the rack he would be a hard one to pass up.

Sorry Neverstop - I think some of those bad boys are too wide!! Sweet compliation of bucks - wide or not, I wouldn't complain about any of them!!

Great thread - I like the narrower look on some of these bucks. Definitely unique.

I saw this buck a couple years ago about the day after I had filled my tag and just took his photo.

I too like tall narrow bucks.

Have a good one. BB

ElmerFudd,
I think your buck must have bred a few does before you got him... my daughter had that tag last year and shot a buck that very much resembles yours! Hers is very heavy and tall like yours, kind of "weak" backs compared to the fronts and somewhat "palmated" in tha back as well! Hers was only 23-24" wide but still grossed 186". Neat buck! It's scary to think what her buck would have scored if the backs would have matched the fronts.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-09 AT 01:45PM (MST)[p]I am trying to post some pictures of my daughter's buck from 2008. It closely resembles that of ElmerFudd's. It was a nice one. It scored 186" with a 23" spread!

Will try again later... having a hard time posting individual pictures!

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-09 AT 09:05PM (MST)[p]Here's a clip of a highcountry buck I actually nicknamed TNN (Tall N Narrow). I video'd this buck in the summer of 2006. Anyone want to throw out some friendly score guesses? He never was harvested, so there is not a 'right' answer. Just curious as to what others would think of him. BTW he was hanging with an absolute monster 5x5 that didn't allow me to get any footage. That buck had a solid 180 mainframe and matching 10-12 inch inlines. Sure wish I could have got some video of that one.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-02-09 AT 10:32PM (MST)[p]BCBOY, i was very impressed with that buck! He just looked huge racked in relation to his head. Way tall, super long points. You say you filmed him in the summer? I'm thinking that if he had much more to grow at all, you might be looking at a "Book Typical"

Tuff to say for sure cause the film clip seemed awful hazy and may have missed some extras that would be deductions but i'm thinking he's a shooter even then, with more time to grow in that velvet, he could be a freaking monster!!

This is not a very good photo, but I would guess the buck on the left was in the 22" range, but really tall and heavy.

Thanks for all the pics guys. Awesome bucks!

makes a guy wonder how many heavy, narrow, tall bucks were passed up back in the day when "30 inches" was the bench mark

Here's one from my photo archives, a buck my Dad got while hunting northeast Nevada in the 90's. He was a 6x7, with 3 sets of forks on each side. Only 18" to 20" wide and 24"-26" tall, though, but I thought a cool buck!

Here's one I scouted for last year and never could find him again. Hope he made it through the hunts last year. I haven't been up that way to see if he is up there this year.
